1800 Block
A first step toward a larger community vision.
The 1800 Block began with existing residential properties near the Masjid of Al-Islam and a client imagining how they could serve something more public. Studio Abri studied Islamic architecture, including calligraphy, arabesque forms, and geometric patterning, then translated those references into color, murals, and façade updates.
Small moves, held together by continuity.
Paint, lighting, roof updates, windows, and mural-scale pattern created an affordable first phase that helped connect individual buildings into a broader identity.
