SALAAM SQUARE

As part of the larger urban development surrounding the Masjid of Al-Islam mosque, the houses on 2nd Avenue represent the first phase of Salaam Square’s redesign. The client requested a design intervention to transform a series of residential buildings into commercial spaces, including a florist, tea shop, and daycare. Drawing from the cultural significance of the mosque and inspired by traditional Islamic tile patterns, studioAbri conducted extensive studies to create a vibrant streetscape while remaining mindful of construction costs. The result is a series of colorful elevations accented with contemporary elements, designed to capture the attention of passersby.
